Snowboarding in the winter

Snowboarding

All snowboards are out searching for one thing…. POWDER!

Les Gets’ best area for off piste is the Mont Chery side of the valley. Not only is it quiet and the back is north facing but it also has one of the best views in the whole of Portes du Soleil. And not to forget, a small but perfectly formed jump park that stays reasonably quiet for the whole season.

Head to the top of the mountain via the Telecabine Mont Chery and the Grande Ourse chairlift. Then skirt round the back and drop down the side next to the Bouquetin black run. There are some open pitches here and some amazing lines to pick up through trees. Truly, a snowboarders paradise!

The silver medal winning performance by Deborah Anthonioz in the Olympic Winter Games 2010 Women’s Boardercross has resulted in our very own ski/boarder cross course here in Les Gets in her honour – the only such permanent facility  in France capable of receiving international competitions. The course is open to all thouthgout the winter season.
